Vietnam - Austria Scholarship Programme

Based on the Agreement between the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (OeAD - GmbH) and the Vietnam International Education Development of the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (VIED - MOET), both parties are proud to announce new joint scholarships for Vietnamese students at Austrian universities, namely Vietnam - Austria Scholarship Programme (VASP). The scholarship is mainly funded by VIED - MOET in the financial frame of Project 911 and co-financed by the OeAD - GmbH.


Number of scholarships:  Up to 10 new scholarships per study year
Scholarship duration:
36 months (including 9 months preparatory phase)
Scholarship rate: Monthly grant rate EUR 940 (accident and health insurance as well as accommodation will be organized by the OeAD on demand and costs will be deducted accordingly). Main scholarship funding, including a return airfare to be covered by VIED in frame of Project 911 and co-financed by OeAD - GmbH.
Eligible for applications: Eligible applicants of
Project 911 who are qualified for a Doctoral/ PhD programme in Austria.
Fields of study:
Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Medicine, Agriculture and Forestry, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Law and Economics (no Theology and Arts).
Application requirements:
- VASP Application form (download from
www.vied.vn or www.grants.at) and proof of Project 911 scholarship application for 2013
- Degrees and academic transcripts required for doctoral study in Austria (Certified translation in English)
- Letter of acknowledgement from a supervisor of the Austrian host university
- Short project description, which has been agreed upon with the future Austrian supervisor.
Proof of language skills referring to the selected study programme (German or English)
Soft copy of all documents must be submitted to VIED - MOET and the OeAD - GmbH contact persons.
Selection procedure:
- Project 911 scholarship applicants who wish to study/research in Austria submit their VASP application.
- VASP applicants will be interviewed by a Vietnamese - Austrian board of experts. The nomination of the Austrian representatives within this board is carried out by the ASEA Uninet and Vietnamese representatives by VIED - MOET.
-    Final selection of candidates will made by VIED - MOET.
