With his practical experiences of nearly 25 years working for The International Monetary Fund (IMF), Prof. Charles Adams indicated the basic macroeconomic causes leading to the current global crisis and its influences on the Asian economy in general and that of the Vietnamese in particular.

The seminar was a chance for representatives to discuss issues relating to the American economy such as income flows, government spending, causes and effects of global imbalances, mechanisms for prevention and resolutions for the crisis. As a result, representatives could see how the crisis had influenced Asia in general and Vietnam in particular in order to draw lessons and solutions for the Vietnamese economy.
