The scholarships were awarded to four groups of undergraduate students with outstanding scientific research projects; two alumnus of the university and one PhD student majoring in Economic Management. Each scholarship is worth USD 500 for each group of students, USD 1,000 for each graduate student and USD 2,000 for PhD student.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the UEB said: “The education internationalization is the development strategy of the VNU University of Economics and Business. Supporting the UEB’s students and learners to access scholarships and funding from prestigious universities in the world will be parts of the strategy. This is to prove the core values of the UEB of encouraging creativity and nurturing passion.”
Ms. Vu Linh Chi - an alumnus of the Faculty of Development Economics said: “There are few scholarships for master students nationwide. We are lucky as our lecturers at the UEB always create the best conditions for us to access prestigious and valuable scholarships and funding. Thus, we have chance to develop high impact research projects.”
PhD student Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhung received a scholarship of USD 2,000 from Laval University
Laval University is one of the largest universities in Quebec and the oldest educational center in Canada. The university was founded in 1663, currently enroll nearly 43,000 students, including about 6,000 international students from 110 countries and regions. In 2019, Laval University signed a cooperation agreement (MOU) with the VNU University of Economics and Business in the fields of training, research and international cooperation, which comprises the agreement on granting scholarships to students and learners for 3 years, starting from 2021. Beside the scholarships with a total value of USD 6,000; UEB’s students and learners will have chance to take part in and report at the Vietnam - Canada Joint Seminar, the annual conference at the UEB.
