Meeting with Institutes of Management Accountants

On 25th March 2019, VNU University of Economics and Business had a meeting with representatives of Institutes of Management Accountants (IMA) and Smart train (professional certificate provider) to discuss the training of smart train certificate and potential cooperative activities among the sides.
Attending the meeting, from the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy - Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditting, MA. Nguyen Thi Hai Ha - Lecturer of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing. From IMA, there were Mr. Josh Heniro - Southeast Asia Regional Director and Mr. Ryan Ang - Regional Development Director. From Smart Train, there were Mr. Pham Ngoc Hoang Thanh - Managing Director and Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Mui - Deputy Director.
The highlight of the discussion is to clarify the
advantages and differences between the US Management Accounting Program (CMA) and
existing international accounting programs in Vietnam such as ACCA and ICAEW.
In addition, representatives of IMA offers potential support for UEB's lecturers
and students such as collaborating with Smart Train to award scholarships and undertaking
CMA training program, sponsoring the regional and international conferences,
funding for research of lecturers and students.
The UEB recognized the advantages of IMA and appreciated IMA as strategic partner of the university and the faculty in the coming time.
