Opening Ceremony of the school year 2018 - 2019

On 5th September 2018, VNU University of Economics and Business officially held the opening ceremony of the school year 2018 - 2019 at the Hall Nguyen Van Dao.

Attending the ceremony, there were leaders of departments and offices of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, representatives of UEB’s partners having cooperated with the UEB over the years.

From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector together with the Vice Rectors and heads of faculties and offices. Especially, the ceremony was attended by staff, lecturers and students of the UEB, including students and doctoral students from France, Germany, Denmark and Japan, who are learning and doing research at the UEB.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le delivered the speech and beat the drum to mark the new school year. He congratulated the freshmen who have successfully passed the national high school graduation exams to attend UEB. He affirmed that "VNU University of Economics and Business have strived over the years to create opportunities for the students to study overseas, being trained with soft skills, doing the internship at domestic and international enterprises as well as receiving scholarships from businesses.” Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le asserted that the UEB will create the most favorable conditions for the students to study, train, develop themselves and get the best job opportunities when they graduate.

At the ceremony, VNU University of Economics and Business awarded the prizes for 6 students who got the highest score at the university entrance exam in 2018. The University also awarded 6 students with high academic achievement; 6 students with outstanding contribution in youth activities and 6 students from difficult families having good academic achievement and the student who win the second prize in student research contest at VNU’s level.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Duong - Deputy General Director of FLC Group said, FLC and the UEB started the partnership in 2018 and planned to sign the MOU in September 2018. She believes that the UEB will be a source for high quality human resources for the Group.

On this occasion, the partners of the University, including IMG Investment JSC., FLC Group, Vietcombank, SeaBank, Vietinbank awarded the scholarships of VND 170,000,000 for students of the UEB.

On behalf of the new students, Tran Hong Anh - student from Faculty of International Business and Economics shared her pride of becoming a student at the UEB after years of constant strive. She said: "It’s my promise to overcome the challenges, take opportunities and try my best in learning and expand the knowledge to gain success for me and contribute to the society."
