Message from Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University of Economics and Business – VNU, Hanoi

Looking back on the development journey of the University from the Faculty of Political Economy of University of Hanoi (1974), then becoming the Faculty of Economics under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU (9/1995), then the Faculty of Economics and Business under VNU (1999), to date is the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (established on March 6, 2007) - a 50-year journey of glorious history of generations of teachers and students constantly striving, continuing success to foster many dreams, provide quality human resources for society, contribute effectively to the educational cause of the country. It can be seen that, with strong breakthroughs in all aspects from training, research, cooperation to international linkage and cooperation programs today, UEB is gradually affirming the image of a professional - dynamic - creative and innovative university.

One of the launching pads to contribute to fulfilling that mission is the educational philosophy that the University always considers as the "guiding compass": "International standard education, creating, independent thinking, harmony, preserving identity, becoming an expert, leader". "Class creates the difference" - That is shown by the University of Economics and Business - VNU in providing society with high-quality human resources in the direction of experts and leaders in the fields of economics, management and business administration, meeting the needs of quality, efficient and sustainable development; Creating a favorable environment for creativity, nurturing and developing talents in the above fields. At the same time, it becomes a research-oriented university that is ranked on par with advanced universities in the Asian region and, together with VNU, reaches out to the world.

The four words in the UEB Educational Philosophy are the hope and expectation that after the training, education and guidance of the school, family and society, students will continue to study, practice and cultivate morality to become global citizens who are capable of creating, thinking independently, and developing harmoniously and sensitively but still preserving national identity. When accumulating and achieving the above goals, students will become qualified experts and leaders and contribute to building the country.

Generations of students and trainees who have graduated from this school, many have become key leaders at all levels and in all sectors, including many who have become high-ranking officials of the Party and State, prestigious scientists, and successful entrepreneurs. In the context of international integration and globalization, the need for high-quality human resources requires higher education to have a new approach to improve the competitiveness of each country. Looking back at a history of nearly 50 years with many suitable names for each period, from the Faculty of Political Economy of the University of Hanoi (1974), followed by the Faculty of Economics under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (1999), and until now the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has reached 15 years of development (since March 6th, 2007). That is a glorious journey of many generations of lecturers and students who constantly strive and continue success to give wings to many dreams, offer high-quality human resources to the society, and contribute greatly to the education of Vietnam.

From this university, many key leaders at all levels and sectors have been trained, many of whom have become high-ranking officials of the Party and State. From this cradle of training, many people have become reputable scientists and successful businessmen.
