Looking back on 28 years of GPAC

GPAC 2014 in Vietnam
During the last 28 years, The Global Partnership of Asian Colleges (GPAC) has been not only a good place for students to exchange all their scientific researches but also helped them to gain insights into other cultures.

GPAC was first held in 1991 thanks to the initiative of Professor Sang-Ki Min from Seoul National University (Korea) and Professor Haruo Shimada, who is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Tokyo Metropolitan University (Japan) seeking to provide a platform for outstanding students from different Asian countries to have academic exchange activities and discuss key economic issues of Asia Pacific.

Until 2002, the number of participating universities had increased with the participation of Meio University (Japan) and National Chengchi University (Taiwan). Over the years, the number of GPAC members is growing which allows conferences to be held in different countries every year.
