Main contents:

Japan has been the second biggest investor in the world and also is the leading investor in ASEAN for years. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in general and Japanese Direct Investment (JDI) in particular play a very important role in economic development process of ASEAN. So far, Japan has been the third biggest investor in the list of foreign investors in Vietnam. Although Japan had considered the market investment, why was not Japan the biggest market investor in Vietnam? Which factors would make Japan strengthen its investment in Vietnam? Which solutions for strengthening the attraction and increase the effects of JDI in Vietnam? By using the methods of Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism; Analysis and Collection; Comparison and Realistic research and survey, the project contributes to answering those questions above:

Besides the introduction, conclusion, list of announced project-related article, appendix and references, the structure of the project contains three chapters:

- Chapter 1: Promotion factors of JDI in Vietnam.

- Chapter 2: Reality of JDI in Vietnam and its issues.

- Chapter 3: Solutions for strengthening, absorbing and enhancing the effects of JDI.
