10 professors from 6 univeristies shared about their ideas about the theme “What Asian countries should do to keep the self-sustained path of growth”. In addition, the panel mentioned the GPAC 2010 participants and was considered as a forum for Asian students express their leadership ability.

At the panel discussion, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Rector of University of Economics and Business - VNU opened the forum in the role of chairman. This was the first working session after two days of welcoming and out-door activities.

Prof. Haruo Shimada, President of Chiba University of Commerce (Japan) deeply impressed by his understanding of Vietnam history and economy. He drew the audiences’ admiration because of his story about President Ho Chi Minh’s revoluntionary life, who has brought freedom and independence to Vietnam. Prof. Haruo Shimada also mention the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan, as well as the common points between the two cultures.

Talking about the development of Asia, Prof. Wei-Jen Wen - National Chen Chi University (Chinese Taiwan) believed that Asian countries are generally young countries, including China and Taiwan. Accordingly, they have the activeness and many exchanging opportunities to approach the world’s scientific and economic archievements. However, they have to be aware of what and how to hand over.

Prof. Kun-Ming Chen (National Chen Chi University) affirmed that GPAC 2010 students were very lively, talented and prospective. “However, you should be clarified your responsibilities” he emphazied.

Back to the forum, Prof.  Shimada shared, the participants should discuss about regional and national issues in specific situation. He talked, “We should learn from European countries’ experience, not only in economy but in all aspects like tourism, culture, transportation… from that point to draw lesson for a sustainable development.”

Prof Sang-Kee Min (Seoul National University) and Prof. Yuri Takahashi (Chiba University of Commerce) emphasized on English using capability to seek study opportunities. One of the very important things is that learning the culture and histoty of a country before cooperating with them.

Delegates discuss after the forum

In the afternoon of 26^th August, professors from 6 universities are listening to presentations by GPAC teams about Asian economy. Participating in the presentation, 150 students are divided into groups to discuss and decide the topic to present in front of the forum.
