Conference of UEB’s Youth Union and Students Association leaders

On 3rd December 2012, the VNU University of Economics and Business has held the conference of leaders of Youth Union and Students Association of UEB classes. The 2012 - 2013 UEB’s Youth Union and Students Association conference was the opportunity for students’ representatives to discuss and suggest their initiatives to improve the quality of training and studying as well as students’ serives at the UEB.


Attending to the conference was UEB Board of Management, representatives of UEB offices, faculties and centers as well as over 100 students who represented Youth Union, Students Association and clubs of the university. There were also representatives of students’ dormitory managers, VNU Library and Information Center and Political - Students Affairs Department.

The conference has taken place in ebullient and constructive atmosphere with many queries relating to studying, research and other activities such as school fee, curriculum, schedule of studying and examination, lecture halls, library, dormitory and scholarship.
In particular, there were opinions which draw the participants’ attention at the conference, for instant ideas about current tuition payment, curriculum of international standard training program, opening hours in the cafeteria… There were also many questions submitted to the conference organizers via e-mail.
 Responding to these questions, representatives of relevant faculties, departments and offices have provided with specific solutions. Accordingly, students should read the university’s regulations and guidelines carefully at the beginning of each academic year. Nonetheless, students better to contact relevant offices if they need any further information. Regarding scientific research activities, the representative of Research and Partnership Development Office thought that it was necessary to strengthen the role of faculty in publicizing research information and guidance to students.

UEB’s officials also acknowledge that the university’s infrastructure is in the difficult period that cannot fully meet the needs of all students. The students’ opinions for Information and Library Center and Dormitories representatives were also recognized and resolved promptly in the future.  Representatives from faculties, departments and offices respond to students’ queries

At the end of the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son summarized the issues mentioned and the suggestions of the students as well. He provided with some directions and solutions for these issues. The rector believes that UEB students need to be more encouragingly to contribute ideas to improve the quality of common activities of the university.
The annual Youth Union and Students Association conference has created a practical forum for students as well as managers, staff, faculty members of the UEB. Through the conference, students’ questions and concerns were partly satisfied; at same time this was also an opportunity for UEB leaders to better understand the feelings and aspirations of their students, thereby having appropriate policy to strengthen the activities of the university.
