Transnational students at UEB are thrilled to learn practical skills

In an effort to build an environment where students can learn both hard and soft skills and are oriented to integrate in accordance with worldwide standards, the Bachelor of Business Administration programs of the University of Economics and Business – Vietnam National University are associated with two American universities: the University of St. Francis and Troy University. Both have lessons in the form of conversations with speakers, experts, business people with actual experience, and lectures on soft skills to help students prepare for future working opportunities and build entrepreneurship.

Recently, in the Strategic Management module (BUS4476) of Dr. Earl Ingram – Lecturer of Strategic Management (BUS4476) and Management Seminar (MGT4479), UEB-Troy had the chance to interact with guest speaker Tran Bao Tuan – Manager of a Honda motorcycle agent. Speaking on the subject of “The Role of Senior Managers in Creating and Managing Ethical Practices Related to the Treatment of Customers and the Environment”, speaker Tran Bao Tuan introduced the idea of “Business Ethics” and demonstrated how to become an influential person to the team through the “secret of sophisticated and effective communication. The lesson that Mr. Tuan shared with the class will help students manage and develop themselves from the moment they arrive at the school.

With soft skills learning lessons, UEB-Troy students always seem enthusiastic and willing to contribute to the lessons, creating a lively atmosphere. Students start to be more confident, enabling them to bravely declare themselves and continuously work on improving themselves.

Nguyen Hien of k18 UEB-Troy shared her thoughts after the talkshow: “After listening to Mr. Tuan’s speech, I now have a clearer understanding of the present circumstance, issues, and solutions for those firms. No matter what business I do, I always have to be ethical to develop. Furthermore, BUS4479 is the last subject and in my opinion, one of the best subjects, since this module includes all business knowledge. I will practice starting my own business using the guidelines and suggestions of Mr. Ingram and the ideas you’ve studied. I appreciate Mr. Ingram providing us with the chance to discuss and share fresh information regarding corporate ethics.”

Nguyen Hien - K18 UEB-Troy sends her sincere thanks to Mr. Ingram for creating opportunities for students to talk and exchange new knowledge about business ethics
