Story about UEBer's new "buddy": Creative thinking module

Hi! I am Creative Thinking Module and here is my story in UEB-VNU.

Part 1: I am Creative Thinking, I am a Newbie

I am a new module focusing on developing thinking capacity and creative skills, in the direction of student-centered and learning-by-doing approach. Since I am a technique of thinking that is heavily used in education in many of the World’s finest institutions (e.g. Harvard University, Stanford University, Dublin University, …), I hold a tremendous desire to transform thinking, stimulate creativity and help students uncover their own abilities. The documents about me are also compiled by a group of lecturers who have attended this course and designed the corresponding activities, especially with the professional advice of experts from the Creative Academy.

I will start accompanying you from the school year 2022-2023 with 5 parts: Chapter 1 - Introduction; Chapter 2 - Prepare your mind; Chapter 3 - Creative thinking; Chapter 4 - Becoming an Entrepreneur (in all situations) and Chapter 5 - Practicing creative skills with design thinking tools.

Part 2: I am the breath of fresh air

I am not just a new subject; everything about me is novel to both students and lecturers at UEB, from fresh approaches to new learning methods, exercises, and assessments… The information is “absorbed” and converted into action through the model ‘What – So what – Now what’ with equipped facilities and outdoor activities, allowing students to find the creative potential buried within themselves, understanding their own value to confidently go out of their comfort zone.

Part 3: UEBers love me!

“The first-year students' initial shyness and confusion progressively vanished, replaced by ‘maturity’ in their communication, attitude, and learning style.” - Lecturer of Development Economics, MSc. Nguyen Thi Phan Thu, remembers the first days of class: "When they initially entered the class, the students were still hesitant and dared not express their ideas. Students experience more positive changes during the instructional process. They are always energized and enthusiastic. They are always eager to participate in new activities and experiences. Each student's response improved with each course, becoming more imaginative and reflecting the individual's views and personality. Even student work may be really inventive, which surprised me.”

Students' creative sometimes surprises lecturers...

“As I progressed through the classes, I realized how much I loved this topic. Teachers teach us how to think, saying that while it usually takes five minutes to answer an issue, it only takes two to three.” - Nguyen Hien, a student in QH2022-E KTPT 1.

This subject helps Nguyen Hien changes her mindset better and smarter in solving any kind of problems

I’m excited to have joined UEB as a “newbie” in the new school and look forward to assisting students in making discoveries and achieving breakthroughs in their thinking. My accomplishment is the improvement of more than 1,000 first-year students who registered in the initial batch.

Creative Thinking classes at Faculty of Economics and International Business are always exciting with many interesting activities
There are still numerous obstacles to overcome on my path through UEB. However, I – Creative Thinking module – am pleased to bear the moniker “promise land” for groundbreaking activities, opening students’ peculiar and extraordinary thinking on the road to globalization and vigorously modernizing UEB teaching techniques!
