UEB's students visited the largest port in the North of Vietnam

On 28th December 2019, the students of intake QH-2017-E Faculty of International Business and Economics, VNU University of Economics and Business had a field trip to Hai Phong Port - one of the two major ports in the North of Vietnam.


Participating in the program, there were Mr. Le Minh Hai - Sales Manager and officials of Hai Phong Port, PhD. Nguyen Thi Vu Ha - Faculty of International Business and Economics and students of 2 classes of QH-2017-E KTQT CLC 1 and CLC 2.

Mr. Le Minh Hai - Sales Manager of Hai Phong Port and officials at the Port received and worked with the UEB’s lecturers and students at the company's headquarters.

 

At Hai Phong Port, the delegation heard Mr. Le Minh Hai present the general information about Hai Phong Port: the process of formation and development, the organizational structure and main activities of the Port. After the presentation of Mr. Le Minh Hai, students of the Faculty of Economics and International Business had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from officials of the Port. Many questions on various aspects of the company were asked, including: new modern technologies being applied at ports, operational efficiency and efficiency in the use of clean energy sources; business strategy of the Port to meet the increasing needs of customers.

 

In addition, representatives of the port also shared about the needs and recruitment process as well as the information interesting to students, which can encourage them to improve their knowledge as well as equip themselves with soft skills needed after graduation.

 

After that, the delegation went on a field trip to Tan Vu Port Branch - a deep-water port of Hai Phong. Up to now, Tan Vu is the largest container port in the North with 5 berths of total 980.6m in length and the container yard of 510,000 m2, capable of receiving ships of up to 55,000 DWT. Here, students visited the production control center of Tan Vu port and its infrastructure system etc.
