Receiving ICAEW - KPMG S.T.A.R scholarship, students of UEB confidently conquer career ladder

15 outstanding students from the Faculty of Accounting - Auditing awarded with scholarships
On January 10th, The Institute Of Chartered Accountants In England and Wales (ICAEW) and auditing firm KPMG co-organized the opening ceremony of KPMG S.T.A.R program for outstanding students who major in accounting at well-known universities.


Within the framework of cooperation between the university, businesses and career associations, students who participate in KPMG S.T.A.R will be sponsored to study and take exam of one module in the Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) of ICAEW; additionally students also have an opportunity to experience a professional training program conducted by KPMG and ICAEW. After the 3rd year at university, students passing at least 1 module in CFAB will be offered a summer internship program at KPMG. In their senior year, excellent students completing CFAB will have the opportunity to be employed by KPMG, one of the 4 biggest auditing firm in the world.

In the international integration context, three-party cooperative framework between universities, business and career associations plays an important role in training quality improvement in order to satisfy requirements of employers. In particular, the partnership between UEB, ICAEW and KPMG helps accounting students to enrich their knowledge and sharpen their technical skills in accordance to international standards. This not only improves accounting students' competence but also contributes to training high quality auditing-accounting work force in globalization context.

The entry requirements of this program are based on GPA and the result of 2 English exams including a writing test and a direct interview with ICAEW.

Le Thi Ngoc Anh, QH2016-E Accouting officially employed by KPMG

This is the 2nd season that students of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing are awarded with scholarships. In the 1st season, 20 students were chosen and after the professional training program, those achieving excellent result of CFAB module exam would be employed as KPMG's interns. At the end of the 1st season, Le Thi Ngoc Anh, QH2016-E Accounting received an offer from KPMG's tax consulting team. In addition, other outstanding students were also recruited to work in Bao Viet Group and other auditing firms.
