The UEB representatives attending the conference included Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Vice Rector, leaders of Office of Academic Affairs, representatives of faculty leader together with staffs in charge of undergraduate and postgraduate education from Office of Academic Affairs and faculties.

In the morning session, leader representative of VNU Academic Affairs Department had an introduction about two new training regulations according to Decision dated 12/2014 signed by VNU President, including regulations of undergraduate and graduate education. In particular, he emphasized some new points of the two regulations and gave Draft guidelines for updating, adjusting undergraduate curriculum as well as organizing foreign language training credits of undergraduate curriculum; guidelines for updating, adjusting or converting master training program under the new regulations and organizing foreign language training credits of master training curriculum.

Also at the conference, the draft guidelines for undergraduate enrolment in 2015 were presented. After the presentation of Academic Affairs Department, member units had some exciting discussions, especially some issues in need of clarifying or difficulties, inadequacies in implementing training regulations and university enrolment renovation based on competence assessment. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Head of Office of Academic Affairs, VNU-UEB expressed his opinion and emphasized the difficulties in complementing new regulations, for example, when converting foreign language credits into conditional credits, the current curriculum framework must be adjusted accordingly. He also asked for clarifying the contents related to soft skills and foreign language training under the new regulations.

In the afternoon, the conference on training plan in 2015 was chaired by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - VNU President. Leader of Academic Affairs Department presented the Report on training review in 2014 and implementation plan of the important tasks in training activity in 2015.

At the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha particularly emphasized on some important issues such as the necessities of focusing on high-quality training toward international standards for training majors with the high demand of society, in accordance with international trends. Regarding the enrolment, each member unit needs to raise staffs's awareness, actively participate, and increasingly spread the new enrollment form on the media. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha also directed that each member unit needs to pay more attention to training quality, through assessing lecturer quality and assessing-testing learners as well as there must be a link between social needs and training, making sure that graduates can find the jobs related to training major.

After a hard-working and effective day, the conference came to an end successfully with a lot of clarified issues and some contents will be adjusted by VNU to be matched with conditions and characteristics of each training unit.
