UEB to receive advice by a world-leading strategist

After the presentations of business administration for undergraduate and graduate students and lecturers of the UEB’s honor program on 20/1/2010, Prof. Tom Cannon met with the University’s leaders and key staffs to talk about its development strategy. It was a great honor for UEB’s leaders and key staff to work with a world-leading strategist like Prof. Tom Cannon about the University’s development strategy.


At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Rector of UEB presented an overview of the University’s development strategy to 2020 with clearly stated missions, visions, core values, goals and fundamental implementation measures. He stressed that the idea cutting across the University’s development strategy is high quality and world class. UEB would make constant efforts to ensure all of its educational services and studies of high-quality and international standards.

Prof. Tom Cannon appreciated the mission, vision, core values, goals and solutions that the University outlined. He said it confirms UEB had sound direction and a strategic vision for its devepment. Prof. Tom Cannon also advised UEB how to implement the strategy successfully as well as to make its strategy understood by all students and teachers. In particular, Prof. Tom Cannon directed the UEB’s leaders and key staff on the issues related to the attraction of talented and financial human resources to further develop the School, select strategic partners, build an advisory Council.

Addionally, he gave highly practical and useful advice for the development of the School of Business at international level. Prof. Tom Cannon highly appreciated the School’s development plan and he also stressed the importance of models to be chosen, PR, marketing, strategic partnership.

The participants were very excited to ideas in a frankly and openly. To conclude the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Rector of the UEB thanked Prof. Tom Cannon and confirmed his advice would help the School to implement its strategy successfully to become an international level research university in the near future. The UEB has always opened large our arms to welcome Prof. Tom Cannon. We would cooperate more closely with him in the future.  

After discussions with the UEB, , Prof. Tom Cannon will be meeting with the VNU on 21/01/2010 on the subject of development strategy for VNU. This is the last working day in his two day working visit to VNU and its member universities in Vietnam.
