Tips for UEB’s graduates to get a job right after graduation

In order to equip UEB’s students with the information of recruitment market and the skills needed when applying for a job, the Office of Politics and Student Affairs in collaboration with the Youth Union, TopCV Vietnam JSC. and LeDi Professional Business organized an online workshop: Recruitment trends, application process and negotiation skills in job interviews.

Grasp the recruitment trends

According to the speakers, currently, the central role of the recruitment has shifted from employers to candidates. Employers want to hear and want to be "led" by the candidates themselves, who need to prove their suitability for the business. Thereby, their understanding, persuasion ability, working styles will be revealed. Mr. Tran Trung Hieu - CEO, Founder of TopCV Vietnam JSC. said: "Our recruitment report shows that, large companies and corporations now prioritize recruiting candidates who have at least 1 to 2 years of experiences. Previously, they will chose 10 from 100 candidates, now they will chose 2 to 3 from 20 candidates.”

Soft skills account for 50%

Ms. Le Hong Diem - Senior Advisor at LeDi Professional Business said: "In my opinion, young people should equip themselves with soft skills and personal brand while they are still in colleges. Businesses today do not choose the best candidates, but they choose the most suitable ones. Therefore, do not worry that you are fresh graduates, just prove yourself in interviews, proving that you are the most suitable and you are willing to contribute to the business."

During these days, you can learn the work process, corporate culture and express yourself through the simple skills: too be on time, polite greeting, neat and the ability to work with colleagues. I think that's what any reputable business would do to its candidates."
