UEBs Heartbeat Blood Donation Day 2019

From the 8th to 9th of October, the UEBs Heartbeat Blood Donation Day attracted the attention of more than 400 staff, lecturers, and students of VNU University of Economics and Business. The event has received 281 units of blood. These blood units will be taken to help patients in Hanoi.


The event was organized by the Youth Union - Student Association of VNU University of Economics and Business in collaboration with the National Institute for Hematology and Blood Transfusion. Blood donation day is an annual event to promote the spirit of mutual affection and share the pain with patients through blood donation activities. Moreover, this also promotes the spirit of solidarity and mutual sharing in the community.

 
 
 
 
 

Staff, lecturers, students of the UEB attended the Blood donation day

The 2019 UEBs Heartbeat blood donation day attracted a number of lecturers, staff, students. During the day, the volunteers were given free health checks and blood tests by doctors of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. They also received certificates of voluntary blood donation, gifts, financial support, and light meals on site.

The collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion ensures the reliability, accuracy of the process of blood donation. The participation of members of the Voluntary Club of UEB also played an important role in supporting blood donation procedures, especially the dissemination of knowledge related to blood donation and blood diseases.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao Nhi, Head of Youth Blood Donation Club shared: “At first, I felt hesitant to organize an event for 2 days as it will not ensure the health of my friends in the organizing committee. However, we are very happy to receive the great participation of teachers, students inside and outside the school. Especially, we are very impressed with the spirit of the freshmen. In the first day of the event, we received many units of blood. It is a great motivation for us to organize more successful humanitarian programs in the future.”

 
The success of the 2018 Blood Donation Day has not only contributed to overcoming the severe anemia of blood banks today, but also demonstrates the spirit of action for community of the staff of the UEB.
