Students of the UEB received Lotte scholarship

Mr. Lee Jung Wook awards scholarship to students
On 25th April 2017, together with 72 students from other universities, 6 students of VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) received the scholarship from Lotte Scholarship Foundation. Each scholarship is worth USD 200.


The students are:

  • Luu Thi Phuong Thao, QH-2014-E, Business Administration
  • Nguyen Thi Minh Hang, QH-2014-E, Economics
  • Nguyen Thi Oanh, QH-2013-E, International Economics
  • Pham Thu Trang, QH-2013-E, Accounting
  • Nguyen Thi Thien, QH-2014-E, Economic Development
  • Nguyen Thi Mai, QH-2014-E, Banking and Finance

Attending the ceremony, there were Mr. Park Sang Sik – Korean Ambassador in Vietnam, Mr. Lee Jung Wook – Executing Director of Lotte Scholarship Foundation, Mr. Baek Woon Jae – General Director of Lotte Coralis, representatives of Lotte Group and universities in Vietnam. From the UEB, there was Ms. Tran Thi Hong – Deputy Head of Office for Student Affairs together with 78 students receiving the scholarship.

Delivering speech at the ceremony, Mr. Park Sang Sik said, Korea and Vietnam have been promoting collaboration in many fields, such as politics, economics, society, culture and education etc. This year, the two countries celebrate the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. He hopes that the scholarship will not only help Vietnamese students but also foster the friendship between Vietnam and Korea. At the same time, he also expects that the students, with their enthusiasm, creativity, will strive even more for the future.

General Director of Lotte Coralis – Mr. Baek Woon Jae said, Lotte Scholarship Foundation was established in 1983 by the president Shin Gyuk Ho. He hopes that the scholarship will be a motivation for the students to pursuit their ambition. He also sent a warm message to the students “You should look further and broader to bring your dream to the destination of endless knowledge of humanity like the teachings of great president Ho Chi Minh”.

 
 
 
This time, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has 18 students from University of Social Sciences and Humanity; University of Foreign Languages and International Studies and University of Economics and Business receiving the scholarship.

Student Pham Thu Trang from Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, VNU University of Economics and Business said: I am honored to receive the Lotte scholarship. This is a huge motivation for us to strive and study, not only in academic activities but also in community activities.

 

The Lotte Foundation Fund was established in 1983. Its scholarship is given to students from difficult family with high academic and research achievement. In 2008, Lotte Foundation Fund came to Vietnam and by means of significant scholarships, the fund has become a trusted companion for outstanding students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
