Launching Bao Son Prize 2013

On 13rd August 2013, VNU University of Economics and Business and Bao Son Group have collaborated to organizate "Launching Bao Son Prize 2013". This is the third year Bao Son Prize were held, each prize worth 40,000 USD.


Attending the ceremony were Dr. Trinh Thanh Hung - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology of economics & engineering sectors, Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son - Chairman of Bao Son Group, Dr. Vu Anh Dzung - Vice Rector of VNU- UEB, and leaders of units under Bao Son Group and the VNU-UEB, the authors who have received Bao Son Prize and reporters from the central and Hanoi media agencies.
Was first launched in 2010, over three years, Bao Son Prize has selected the excellent work with valuable scientific and practical contribution to the development of society. Up to now, there have been three research projects which were awarded Bao Son Prize.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son and Dr. Vu Anh Dzung emphasized Bao Son Prize 2013 to be held with the expectation to get more interest of scientists, found more worthy projects (under 5 areas) and create more dissemination from this significant award.

Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - Senior Advisor, Former President of VNU share the meaning of Prize and scholarships for young scientists was established from the Bao Son Prize that he and his team received in 2011.

The delegates and journalists question the organizers of the award programs: the difference of Bao Son Prize with another prize of science, and how practicality it is reviewed, or more specifically for works of literature...


In 2013, Bao Son Award will review Prize for scientific research in 5 areas:
    - Education reform and human resources training for the country
    - Individuals or organizations contribute to reduce poverty
    - The sustainable development of economics
    - The works in the field of medicine, and protection of public health care.
    - The literature has spread human values and is acknowledged by the social class.

Plan for Bao Son Prize 2013 (tentatively):

- 13/8/2013 - 30/11/2013: Opening for registered documents.
- 5/12/2013 - 01/2013: Judging Bao Son Award.
- 2/2014: Announcement of Prize.
- 3/2014: Awarded Bao Son 2013.

Bao Son Award is under system of business Prize by Bao Son Tourism and Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company (called Bao Son Group) established in 2010, awarded for excellent scientific - technological works which have high academic value, creativeness and practical application with contribution to the development of the country. VNU- UEB is the executive unit of the prize.
Bao Son Prize was held successfully last years contributed to honor, promotion and dissemination of scientific work which has been applied effectively in practice, while encourages all sectors of society for research development of economy, society, culture and people of Vietnam.
In 2011, Bao Son Prize was awarded for the project: “Investigating, Assessing, Statistics, and Planning Internationally and Nationally Significant Preservation Areas of Underwater Land” by a research team of Vietnam National University, Hanoi led by Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - President with a total value of 20,000 USD.
In 2012, Bao Son Prize was awarded to two projects: "Series of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012" by the authors group led by Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, VNU- UEB and the study on “The development of stem cells to treat a number of heart diseases, blood-forming organs and human optic organ cases” by the authors of Hanoi Medical University, led by Dr. Do Doan Loi as the team leader. Each prize worth 30,000 USD.
