Student Research Conference 2022: Quality and quantity

On the morning of May 6, 2022, VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) held the Scientific Research Conference for 14 students groups which had succeeded in faculty level research.


Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Chairman of Student Research Council; Dr. Nguyen Duc Lam, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Member of Student Research Council; Representatives of the teachers of the Faculties/Institutes; instructors and UEB students.

At the opening speech, Vice Rector Nguyen Anh Thu highly appreciated the hard work and passion for scientific research of UEB-VNU students, especially "student scientists" have overcome many challenges to participate in the final round of competition. The Scientific Research Conference is always a useful, interesting and energetic academic event for staff, lecturers and students to contribute to improving the quality of training and scientific research of the University.

 

14 student research projects with topics related to socio-economic issues in the context of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. These are all carefully studied topics, presented in logic way, showing the hard-work and creativity in scientific research. Many research papers are highly appreciated and suggest new research directions for UEB students.

Council members discussed and gave numerous of critical questions to the participating groups. On that basis, students have clearly identified the contents of their project and can learn from experience, accumulated a lot of knowledge to complete the project at a higher level. 

 

Most of the research contents have profound scientific and practical significance, the students have grasped the contents quite deeply and expressed them well. The research papers all attracted the interest and criticism from students and additional answers from the teachers in the Council.

The scientific researches of students are of very good quality, the number of works written in English and reported in English has a high proportion. Some works are highly topical and practical, using advanced computational models. In addition to focusing on cultivating basic knowledge and research methods, a number of student research projects have made a methodical investment in collecting primary data through surveys as well as expert interviews” shared Dr. Nguyen Duc Lam, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development

 
 

Under the dedicated guidance of teachers in the Faculty/Institute, along with the students' passion for scientific research, after a thorough review process, the Council found the "owner" of 5 First Prizes, 5 Second Prizes and 5 Second Prizes and 4 Third Prizes.
