The conference was co-organized by the UEB and Manning School of Business at Massachusetts Lowell University (USA). It was sponsored by Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PVcombank), National Science and Technology Development Fund (Nafosted), Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Ha Thanh Branch, British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and MB Securities Joint Stock Company (MBS). The conference lasted for 2 days 6^th and 7^th January including two plenary sessions and 16 parallel sessions.

 

 

Attending the opening session of the conference, there were representatives of agencies, ministries, departments, branches, research institutes, universities, especially leading economic experts from University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA), Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), Sustainable Development Policy Research Division, British Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Vietnam Low Emission Energy Program ( V-LEEP) sponsored by USAID. From VNU University of Economics and Business, there were Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking, PhD. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy - Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing.Giving the opening speech at the conference, Rector of UEB, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le welcomed scientists and policy makers to attend the conference. He affirmed that it was a scientific forum for researchers, scholars and managers to exchange academic views and publish the latest scientific research in the field of finance - banking - accounting. Besides, she assured that the conference would bring opportunities for international cooperation in teaching and research with leading universities in the region and around the world.

 

 

There were 3 presentations by 3 researchers in the conference: PhD. Sandra Richtermeyer - Rector of the Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA presented about "Risk Management: Contemporary Trends in the field of finance and accounting"; Mr. Jimmy Greer - Head of Division Sustainable research and policy, ACCA, publishes research results on "Creating environmental and social values"; Mr. John Bruce Wells - Representative of Vietnam Low Energy Energy Program (V-LEEP), USAID presented the study "Benefits of disclosing sustainable development information".

 

 

 

The conference attracted the attention and participation of nearly 100 economists from leading universities in the world such as Massachusetts Lowell University (USA); Lincoln University (United Kingdom), Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) and major universities and research institutes across the country and nearly 60 research papers have passed the review round to be published in the Conference Proceedings.

 

The research fields of the papers were diverse, updated, in-depth analysis in banking, finance and accounting, including 12 main topic groups (1) Capital and investment markets; (2) Behavioral finance; (3) Fund management strategy; (4) Green finance; (5) Quality of service and corporate governance; (6) Public finance management and insurance; (7) Performance of financial institutions; (8) Banking technology and brand assets; (9) Risk management in the banking system; (10) Management accounting and information systems; (11) Sustainable development report and information disclosure; (12) Internal audit and independent audit.
