Create the best conditions for lecturers to undertake research project

This is the speech by Mr. Mai The Binh - Deputy Director of National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (Nafosted) in the meeting with lecturers/economists of VNU University of Economics and Business on 18th September 2018.


Attending the meeting, there were Ms. Phan Thi Minh Nguyet; Ms. Pham Thanh Thuy; Ms. Vu Cam Tu - staff of Nafosted. From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Research and Partnership Development with lecturers and economists of the University. 

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu welcomed the Nafosted delegation to the UEB. She highly appreciated the role of the Foundation in scientific research activities nationwide, which promote the mission of creating a favorable research environment in line with international standards for Vietnamese experts and researchers. She hoped that Foundation and heads of the research projects will find a common voice, solve problems, quickly solve administrative procedures to improve the quality of the research project.

 

At the meeting, many researchers and interested lecturers came and questioned the delegation of Nafosted. The researchers at the UEB questioned about delayed feedback of articles sent to the Foundation as well as the reason why articles were delayed publishing.

In addition, other lecturers also questioned about the allowance and how it is calculated so that the work is best conducted. These questions were thoroughly answered by representatives of the Foundation.

Briefly summarizing the main ideas, Mr. Mai The Binh affirmed that the money spent on the research project is mainly from tax, so both the Foundation and researchers are responsible for using the money effectively. Mr. Binh also highly appreciated the research activities of the UEB. He hoped that the two sides will continue to cooperate in the future.
