UEB lecturers’ working trip in Japan

Working with Nomura's experts
From 16th April to 19th April 2018, a group of researchers from Faculty of Banking and Finance leaded by Assoc.Prof.Dr.Tran Thi Thanh Tu had a working trip to Japan within the framework of the project “Establishment and Development of M&A in Vietnam”.


During the trip, researchers had a chance to work with experts from Noruma Institute for Capital Market Research to learn more about Japanese experiences in developing government bond, local bond and corporate bond market. Then, the group visited National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS). After the in-depth interview with Institute’s professors, the team had learnt a good deal about capital market development in general and bad debts handling experiences in particular from Japan banking system to apply in Vietnamese system. On the last days in Japan, the group and International Christ University (ICU) had a great discussion about cooperation in banking and finance.

The working trip ended with a lot of good impressions about Japanese people and culture together with promising co-operation opportunities between VNU University of Economics and Business and Japanese universities in the near future.
