UEB’s students received award at the 7th KEI student paper competition

On 17th December 2015, two students of the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) honored to receive the award at the 7th KEI student paper competition of Korea Environment Institute.



KEI student paper competition is a competition for undergraduate, masters and PhD students from colleges and universities around the world. In 2015, the competition was under the theme of "Environment, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development”.

At the ceremony, 6 outstanding articles chosen from 40 ones submitted from students all over the world were awarded. The prizes include: 1 first prize, two second prizes and four third prizes. The first prize was awarded to student Jarot Indarto from Indonesia - PhD candidate at Hiroshima University, Japan, with article “Can improving agricultural yield mitigate deforestation? An empirical evidence from oil palm development in Indonesia”.

The article of the UEB’s students, with the topic of "Mainstreaming climate change in socio-economic development strategy" received the third prize. Authors of the article are students Luong Thi Tuyen (majored in Development Economics and Finance and Banking) and Nguyen Thi Bich (class QH-2013-E, Faculty of Economic Development).

Speaking at the ceremony, student Luong Thi Tuyen expressed deep gratitude to Korea Environment Institute as well as enthusiastic support from lecturers and friends at the UEB.

Within the framework of the ceremony, the KEI organized the field trip for students to learn about researches and project of the Institute. The trip to professional work environment at international level brought about rewarding experiences for UEB’s students.
