The economic theory of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, V.I. Lenin is a massive scientific theory, so its research and application must depend on specific conditions. Previously, this doctrine was exploited mainly to serve the cause of national liberation and national reunification. Today, Marxist-Leninist doctrine needs to be exploited and applied to the defense and development of the country along the socialist path. This is the approach to the Marxist-Leninist doctrine of this course.

In our country, the Communist Party of Vietnam has creatively applied Marxism - Leninism to the specific situation of the country, successfully completed the cause of national liberation and is leading our people to build and protect Socialist Fatherland. Therefore, the contents presented in the Textbook can't be separated from Ho Chi Minh's thought; viewpoints and lines of the Communist Party of Vietnam. On the other hand, the Church closely follows the reality of the country and the world today, contributing to answering the urgent problems posed by practice. At the same time, theoretical and practical issues presented in the Textbook aim to contribute to training high-quality human resources, serving the cause of national construction and defense.

The course is structured into 7 chapters. Each chapter opens with an overview of the concepts, features, content, and nature of the issues, and ends with the emphasis on illustrated content boxes, chapter summaries, review questions and discussion, research questions.
