Message to GPAC 2010 from Prof. Wei-jen Wen

It is my great pleasure to extend congratulations to GPAC 2010. Taking place in Vietnam - one of fastest growing countries in Asia for the first time, this year’s event marks a new milestone for the glorious history of GPAC.

Founded by Professors Haruo Shimada and Sangkee Min in 1991, GPAC has grown to be an important platform for university students from Asian countries to get together to discuss issues of common concern as well as to learn to appreciate the differences among each other. Students from National Chengchi University first participated in this event in 2002. Since then, many of our alumni have considered GPAC the most memorable event in their college life.

Over the years, we have witnessed the growth in the numbers of universities participating in GPAC and the strengthening of the bonds among these member universities. Thanks to the hospitality of Vietnamese friends, this year GPAC not only enables the participants to meet their cohorts from different countries but also provides everyone a great opportunity to better understand the beautiful country of Vietnam. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Vice President of University of Economics and Business, Professor Nguyen Hong Son for inviting us to Vietnam National University, Hanoi. I would also like to express my appreciation to Professors Nguyen Quoc Viet and Nguyen Thuy Linh as well as everyone whose efforts helped make GPAC 2010 a reality. I expect GPAC 2010 to be a great success and wish every participant the best enjoyment of this feast of new ideas and new perspectives.
