UEB welcomes students from the University of Sydney, Australia for the 3rd time to study and exchange culture

With the reputation in training and researching, modern facilities, and international standard in teaching quality, University of Economics and Business (UEB-VNU) has been a reliable address for arranging study tours in Vietnam to many international institutes. On 30th January, UEB welcomed the first guest of the new year 2023, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and a delegation of students and lecturers from the University of Sydney (USYD).


Welcoming the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and a group of 18 students and lecturers from the University of Sydney (USYD), Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Truc Le – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of UEB sent New Year greetings, shared joy and warmly welcomed the delegation to UEB with interesting experiences in Vietnam.
 

Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Truc Le - Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the Board of Trustee sent New Year greetings and welcomed the delegation of students and lecturers from the University of Sydney to UEB to study.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Anh Thu – Vice Rector of UEB also emphasized that the cooperation between the two universities over the past 9 years has not only brought helpful learning programs but also opportunities for students to have a more practical experience and cultural exchange.

This 12-day study tour (January 30 to February 10, 2023) is part of the RARE program, which began in Australia in 2011 and has been expanded in Vietnam since 2015 in collaboration with the USYD and organized by UEB.

 

Mr Jared Harrison, RARE Program Director, USYD shared about the RARE Program with UEB and USYD students.

On the first day, UEB and USYD students participated in the “Scaling social enterprise in Vietnam” workshop with lectures from representatives of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, the USYD and social enterprises. In addition to valuable information about social enterprises in Vietnam, students also heard about startup stories starting from the urge to help the surrounding community.

Information about "Empowering social enterprises in Vietnam" was shared online by speaker Pham Kieu Oanh - Founder and Director of the Center for Community Service Initiatives (CSIP)

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr Truong Thi Nam Thang, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, at National Economics University shared about “Promoting the development of social enterprises in Vietnam”.

In the next 10 days, the delegation was divided into 4 groups of students and went to learn about reality at 4 businesses: Tohe, Ngong, Mimi Fashion, and Pamzon. These social enterprises accompanied UEB and USYD students to support them in forming and developing their big assignment – their project.

On the last working day, 4 groups of students gave their confident and convincing presentations about a brand development project that the group came up with.

Students from UEB, USYD and students from Nguyen Tat Thanh High School (Hanoi National University of Education) who attended the program were all captivated by energetic and inspirational presentations.

After 12 days of bonding together, UEB and USYD students not only had an opportunity to learn but also exchange knowledge and culture, and beautiful cross-border friendships began to sprout.
