With Interhands Scholarships, UEB students are encouraged to go to school and light up the future

With the purpose of supporting ethnic minority students with good academic achievements, University of Economics and Business – Vietnam National University (UEB – VNU) and Mr. and Mrs. Einar Schultz (Norwegian) – Partner of Center of Economic Research and Development has established the Interhands Scholarship Fund, which includes scholarships to fund tuition expenses for four years, students studying at the UEB, rewards of up to $2,000.


 
Overview of the Ceremony 
On January 11, 2023, the University of Economics and Business, VNU held a ceremony to award Interhands Scholarships to ethnic minority students. Attending the Scholarship Award Ceremony, on the Sponsor side, there was the attendance of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Viet - Representative of Interhands Scholarship.

On the University side, there were the participations of Dr. Pham Vu Thang - Deputy Director of the Institute of Business Administration, Director of the Center for Development Economics; Dr. Luu Ngoc Hiep - Responsible for Vice Dean of Faculty, Faculty of Finance and Banking; MSc. Nguyen Thi Luong - Department of Politics and Student Affairs.

Along with that was the presence of two students awarded Interhands 2023 scholarships, namely Hoang Duc Anh - Class QH-2021-E Business Administration CLC2 and To Hai Duy - Class QH-2022-E TCNH CLC1.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Pham Vu Thang - Deputy Director of the Institute of Business Administration, Director of the Center for Economic Research and Development shared that the University of Economics and Business, VNU always tries to care and accompany students to overcome difficulties on their learning path and continuously seeks for exceptional scholarship funding.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Viet also sends her best wishes to UEB teachers and students on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, and hopes that the Interhands Scholarship fund will continue to accompany and sponsor in the coming years, encourage generations of students to study better, overcome all difficult situations in life, and make positive contributions to society.
 

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kieu Viet affirmed that Interhands Scholarship will continue to accompany and support UEB students in the coming years 

During the ceremony, officials from the Interhands Prize offered two scholarships to ethnic minority students who are overcoming obstacles to thrive in their studies, with the value of each scholarship totaling $10,000. The scholarship is valued at 15 million VND.

"The Interhands scholarship constantly reminds me of the value of love and compassion," said student To Hai Duy - Class QH-2022-E TCNH CLC1. “When I am inspired by the School's and Sponsor's assistance, I am more motivated to better myself and offer a tiny portion of my talent to the growth of society."

University of Economics and Business – VNU and Interhands Scholarship always wants to encourage students by supporting both mentally and financially, so that students overcome difficulties and strive to study well.

 At the scholarship awarding ceremony, student Hoang Duc Anh happily shared: “When I received the scholarship, I was really touched and surprised. For me, the gift of the teachers and the Interhands Scholarship Fund not only helped me continue to fulfil my dream of going to university, sharing with my family the financial burden, but more importantly, it was a spiritual encouragement. God is so great, a precious sentiment that I will forever remember and be grateful for! I will try my best to study well so that in the future I can be successful, have a stable career and help many people who are ethnic minorities and have difficult circumstances.”
