UEB leader visits Uppsala University, Sweden

From 8th to 17th June 2011, the mission of University of Economics and Business - VNU led by Rector - Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son has paid a working visit at Uppsala University (Sweden).


This has been the first visit of UEB Rector to Uppsala University - one of the most prestigious and renowned universities of Northern Europe. During the time at Uppsala University, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son and his mission have a meeting with UU Vice-Chancellor and its faculties’ Deans to develop the cooperation and improve the effectiveness of joint training in Master Program in Public Management between the two universities. At the meetings, two sides expressed the pleasure to the cooperative programs, as well as affirmed to continue the bilateral relationship.

Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son also discussed with UU representatives on the possibility of faculties and students exchange.

UEB delegates have visited the campus of Uppsala University
and study about its university governance.

Besides their official visit, Rector and five lecturers of the University of Economics and Business have participated in a special training course on teaching methods and instructions for master’s thesis by experienced faculty members of Uppsala University.
The working visit of UEB mission at Uppsala University has gained great success, creating the fundamental to improve the cooperation between the two universities.


Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son at Department of Government, Uppsala University

Founded in 1477, Uppsala is the most traditional university in Northern Europe, one of the Top 100 highest ranked universities in the world. Uppsala University has nine faculties, training in many majors, from bachelor to doctoral degree with 50 bachelor programs and 45 master programs. The university has eight scientists won the Nobel Prize in the field of Medicine, Physics, Chemistry and Peace. University of Economics and Business - VNU and Uppsala University has signed the MOU since May, 2009. In late 2009, the joint training of Master Program in Public Management between the two universities was organized. So far the program has enrolled nearly 200 graduates.
