UEB promotes cooperation in training and research with South Taiwan National University

On 15th April 2009, leaders of the University of Economics and Business - VNU, had a meeting with South Taiwan National University to discuss training and research programs.


Attendees from South Taiwan National University, were Dr. Hsin Hsing Wu, Executive Vice President, Dr. Wurong Shih, Chairman of Department of Management of Information Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yung Peng Wang, Dean of Office of International, and successful former students from the university From the University of Economics and Business, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Director of Research, Cooperation and Development Department, and various service development experts in Vietnam.

Since the beginning of 2008, South Taiwan National University has collaborated with the University of Economics and Business, nrolling the university’s excellent students on MBA programs delivered in English in Taiwan. In the meeting, both sides reached an agreement to allow the University of Economics and Business, VNU, to select excellent students from all universities in north Vietnam to study at South Taiwan National University.

Another topic discussed at the meeting was the research thesis entitled: “Scientific issues related to the development of Vietnam’s service sector up to 2020”. This is the focus of research projects of national level stipulated by the national decree HX01/06-01: “Basic Issues in Vietnam’s Economic Delopment from the present to 2020”. This project is sponsored by the University of Economics and Business and is headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son. Under this framework, the University of Economics and Business and South Taiwan National University will work together to organize a survey and a scientific forum for the research group in Taiwan to exchange information on Taiwan’s experience in service development.

At the end of the meeting, leaders of both sides were happily exchanging presents and taking photos, to herald a successful cooperation in the future.
