UEB to attend the VNU Investment Promotion Conference 2022

On December 10, 2022, VNU held the 2022 Investment Promotion Conference to attract resources and call for investment in VNU’s construction, teaching and research activities under the direction of the Prime Minister on a “5-in-1” university town model. This is an activity to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the Government’s promulgation of the Decree on VNU (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2022). University of Economics and Business took part in the event.


Hoa Lac-based VNU town to be built under the PM’s direction, following a “5-in-1” model, comprises a talent training centre; a modern research and technology transfer centre; an innovation centre at national and international level; a smart and modern university city; a centre for public-private partnership testing and research training.

Currently, VNU has compiled a list of PPP projects for the period of 2022 - 2025, including a centre for research and development, a centre for training high-quality human resources in technological banking and finance, an international standard hospital, a dormitory compound, an inter-level school, a commercial service complex, among others.

 

The Investment Promotion Conference 2022 is an opportunity for VNU to introduce its public-private partnership projects, a legal framework, mechanisms and policies for different types of investment.

Addressing the conference, VNU President Le Quan said that VNU town was being invested in to become a key urban area in the west of the capital, focusing on scientific and technological knowledge resources; research, knowledge transfer, interconnection with Hoa Lac high-tech park, the whole capital city and the Northwest region. VNU has been selected as the first university in the country to pilot a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Earlier on, VNU completed and put into operation many essential works such as: VNU headquarters in Hoa Lac; VNU Central Library and the Central square in the 163.8-hectare zone; Lecture Buildings HT1, HT2 and Zone 4 internal infrastructure; the Office of Vietnam - Japan University in Hoa Lac; and a number of other structures serving student’s life and study.

VNU President Le Quan shared that in addition to the building of the complexes for training and research, about 50% of the area was set aside for public-private partnership projects. The Prime Minister has already established a working group led by the Minister of Planning and Investment to implement the VNU project in Hoa Lac and to timely deal with possible problems. He added that VNU was developing a draft guide for the implementation of PPP investment, demonstrating VNU's determination to publicize its transparent business management process.

At the conference, VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son presented a summary report on the thematic sessions within the framework of the Investment Promotion Conference 2022 with 1 plenary session and 5 concurrent sessions on: (1) Investment promotion; (2) High-tech Agriculture and Sustainable Development; (3) Digital transformation and artificial intelligence; (4) High-tech Medicine and Health Sciences; (5) Workshop "Attracting private investment in science, technology and innovation development in Vietnam towards sustainable development goals".

At the conference, the VNU University of Economics and Business introduces and disseminates achievements in economic and scientific research, displays special publications of international conferences that the University has successfully organized in recent years.
