UEB develops a new joint training program with Benedictine University

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son signed the MOA with Mr. Michael Brophy
After a period of negotiation and discussion, VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) and Benedictine University (USA) agree to develop a joint 2 + 2 bachelor training program in Accounting - Marketing - Finance.


On 14 June 2016, two universities organized the Agreement Signing Ceremony to build this joint training program which is expected to open new opportunities for students to enroll in international standard program with reasonable costs.

Attending the ceremony, from VNU University of Economics and Business were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector, Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Ms. Hoang Thi Bao Thoa - Director of Center for Training and International Education; from Benedictine University were Prof. Michael Brophy - President and Mr. Peter Nguyen - Advisor, Program Director in Vietnam.

 

Opening the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son expressed his high appreciation for the strategic and long-term partnership as well as cooperation achievements of UEB and Benedictine University since 2008 when the two universities formally established the cooperation.

 

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, the relationship between Vietnam and America is increasingly strengthening; the impressive visit of the US president recently has opened a new era for the economic cooperation and especially education and training collaboration between the two countries. Vietnam joining TPP with US will increase the competition in the field of education and training. Therefore he was very glad that the two universities agreed to develop a joint bachelor training program of international quality.

At the ceremony, Mr. Michael Brophy - Benedictine University’s President showed his sincere thanks to VNU-UEB for being warmly welcomed and holding this signing ceremony. He greatly appreciated the development and reputation of VNU-UEB for the past few years, and expressed his interest to continue developing the long - term and comprehensive relationship between the two universities. Mr. Brophy emphasizsed that Benedictine University had always considered VNU-UEB an important partner and a "close friend" of Benedictine University.

After the exchange of information, Mr. Michael Brophy and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son signed the cooperation agreement between the two universities. The ceremony marked a new era - according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong son - the “blooming era” for cooperation of the two institutions.
