Leaders of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing and AIA representatives at the meeting
Association of International Accountants (AIA) is a professional accounting organization founded in England in 1928 and so far has created a network of more than 85 countries around the world. AIA is headquartered in the UK, and has set up branches in Hong Koong, Greece, Cyprus, Ghana, Singapore and Malaysia.

On 15 June 2016, representatives from AIA in Taiwan - Ms. Joanna Liu - paid a visit to VNU University of Economics and Business to discover cooperation opportunities on developing AIA programs in Vietnam. During the meeting, Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Anh Tai and Ms. Joanna Liu discussed many issues related to the cooperation between AIA and the Faculty.

Accordingly, Ms. Joanna Liu proposed a number of incentives for UEB’s students. In particular, AIA is considering exemption of some courses of the Faculty if the curricula of these courses are consistent with the training program of AIA. Another good news for the students is that AIA intends to switch AIA courses to Vietnamese to create favorable conditions for students to access lectures easier as well as ensure better output quality for students.

Besides, understanding the demand of students who want to take their study seriously and get international certificates as soon as the program finishes, AIA commits to provide the best learning conditions for students, assisting them to follow the program, ensuring that students will pass all examinations of AIA program. Currently, the percentage of students passing exams of the program is 70% at AIA. Additionally, AIA offers promising opportunities for students to do their internships in some Asian countries such as Hong Kong, China, and Malaysia.

This is a great chance for students to get international professional certificates and approach easier with employment opportunities at both domestic and foreign enterprises. Hopefully in the near future, the collaboration between the VNU University of Economics and Business and AIA will bring a lot of benefits to students in and outside the University.
