On 8th August 2015, during a working visit to Vietnam National University, representatives of Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan leaded by Prof. Yoshiki Matsui - Dean of the Faculty of the Business Administration had a meeting with the University of Economics and Business (UEB). Attending the meeting, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector; Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Phan Chi Anh - Director of Centre for Business Administration Studies.
The UEB and the YNU signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 2012. So far, the two sides jointly set up and implement effectively cooperation activities, including academic exchanges, student and faculty exchange, creating learning opportunities and exchanges for students and faculty of the two universities.
During the meeting, leaders of the two universities confirmed maintaining the successful cooperation and expressed the desire to seek opportunities for cooperation in the field of research. With the goal of becoming leading research-oriented university in Vietnam, the UEB always focused on development of research; in which research on macroeconomics, industry and services as well as development experiences of Japan are of particular interest. Therefore, opportunities for research collaboration between the two universities are promising. Besides, representatives of the two universities also discussed the plan to organize a conference on Japanese Enterprises in Vietnam, the conference is expected to build a foundation for further projects and research of the same topic.

Ending the meeting, on behalf of the UEB, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son thanked Yokohama National University for their support and positive contribution to the development of relations between the two universities. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son also expressed the desire to receive students of YNU attending student exchange in Hanoi.
