Attending the meeting, from the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, from the JICA, there were Mr. Chikahiro Masuda - Deputy Chief of JICA, Mr. Matsushita Takashi - senior advisor /international auditor together with staff of the Agency.

Beginning the meeting, Mr. Chikahiro Masuda gave brief introduction about the province-based research on economic growth and expressed the hope to collaborate with the UEB within the framework of the project. The project aimed at identifying economic growth rate at provincial level by employing the FDI and industrial accumulation. Its results will help the central government understand about implementation of industrial accumulation. Mr. Masuda also talked about the survey plans expected to conduct in some Northern and Southern Provinces.

On behalf of the UEB, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son expressed his pleasure to collaborate with JICA in conducting the research. He also shared his experiences in selecting provinces for survey.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed the willingness to foster future cooperation as well as develop detailed plan for the implementation of collaborative activities in the future.
