Murdoch University’s representatives visit the UEB

March 17th 2014, UEB Rector Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son has received and discussed with Dr. Richard Higgott, Vice Chancellor of Murdoch University (Australia) and other representatives on cooperation opportunities.


Two Murdoch University’s professors, Dr. Yvonne Haigh and Dr. Mark Beeson joined the meeting with UEB Vice Rector Dr. Nguyen Truc Le and leader of UEB’s Office of Research and Partnership Development.
At the meeting, leaders of Murdoch University and University of Economics and Business shared information about the history, major activities and development orientation of the two sides. Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son introduced several international joint programs, major research projects and the network of international partners of the UEB. In particular, the rector spent time sharing information about the international conferenced hosted by the university as well as major research projects coordinated with foreign organizations and universities.

Murdoch University’s representatives appreciated the direction of the UEB and were particularly interested in some research fields of the university such as sustainable development, poverty reduction, environmental protection, green growth… Dr. Richard Higgott has officially invited the UEB leaders to attend the international conference on public administration held by Murdoch University in October 2014.
The two sides agreed to discuss more to implement cooperation activities such as faculty and student exchange, curricula and research products exchange, thereby giving priority to strengths of two universities for an effective cooperation.
Afterward, representatives from Murdoch University and UEB’s faculty members participated in a seminar on global economic cooperation and great power rivalry, opening for the next cooperation programs between the two universities, especially in research activity.
