California State University Long Beach (CSULB) was founded in 1949 in California, USA. CSULB is among the first-rank National Universities and is the second largest member of the California State University System, and is also the third largest college in the state.
The school was ranked #4 by US News & World Report among the top public universities in the West and one of the five public universities with the best Master program in the US West Coast from 2005 to 2011. The CSULB is awarded the “America's Best Value Colleges” by the Princeton Review. In 2007, the school was ranked as the third best public university in the United States, and the only school in the California State University system to receive the award in 2009 and 2010. If CSULB supports the University of Economics and Business in advising on program development, the World Bank (WB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will be co-operating with the University of Economics and Business in throughout the training process.
Founded in 1944, the World Bank (WB) is part of the Bretton International Financial Agreement. In addition to the head office located in Washington, DC, the bank also has representation offices in member countries. The World Bank is an important financial and technical assistance for developing countries around the world. In cooperation with its member organizations, the World Bank provides low-interest or low-interest loans, grants to Member States for a variety of purposes, including investment in education, health, administrative management, infrastructure, financial and human development, agriculture, and natural resource and environmental management.
IFC is an organization that was established in 1956. IFC’s operational objective is support the private sector by providing long-term loans, equity investments, underwriting, risk management to and consulting services. Although being a member of the World Bank, IFC operates independently. In Vietnam, IFC mobilizes capital for private businesses with strong growth potential, especially in small and medium enterprises. It also supports the sustainable development of Vietnam, helping Vietnam to attract international investors in key areas such as infrastructure, renewable energy and microfinance. IFC consultants help Vietnamese businesses to be more efficient and satisfied customer.
In the past two years, with the support of the World Bank, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the University of Economics and Business - VNU successfully organized a series of training courses " Corporate governance in banks "for senior executives of Vietnamese commercial banks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Some modules and seminars in the Master of Business Administration program will be held by IFC senior executives. In the near future, the World Bank and IFC will accompany the University of Economics and Business - VNU in the field of research and training related to the management of financial institutions as well as other cooperative relationships. This is the basis for UEB to obtain the success in the Master program in Financial Institutions Management.
