On May 21st 2015, Faculty of Finance - Banking and Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, University of Economics and Business, VNU has collaborated with the Department of Science and Technology to hold successfully the Ninh Binh seminar “Develop the value chain of mushrooms in Ninh Binh " which is a part of the provincial-level scientific research framework of Assoc. Prof – Dr. Tran Anh Tai
Attending to the seminar, there were Mr. Giang Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology in Ninh Binh, Nguyen Thi Oanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance in Ninh Binh, Pham Van Trung - Director of Extension Center in Ninh Binh, Dinh Van Vong - Vice Chairman of Yen Khanh District, Ninh Binh province, leaders of departments and numerous mushroom growers in the province of Ninh Binh and Yen Khanh district.
About the University of Economics and Business (UEB) - VNU has Assoc. Prof – Dr. Tran Anh Tai - Vice President; Assoc. Prof – Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Dean of Finance and Banking (F-B), Dr. Tran The Nu – Vice-dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing and other members of the research team.
In the part of enterprises and banks, there were Mrs. Mai Khue Anh - CEO of the Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) and the trading supermarket Directors, representing the participant in value chain of mushrooms; Mr. Pham Quoc Huong – Director of Huong Nam Mushrooms company, President of the Ninh Binh mushroom Association, along with Representatives of Banking managers, such as: Agriculture and Rural Development, Policy and Development, Industry, Technology.
Opening with the project introduction, Mr. Tran Anh Tai expressed thanks to the leadership of Department of Science and Technology of Ninh Binh and Yen Khanh district leaders have supported the team in the process to implement the project, and emphasizing the main objective of the workshop was to make comments, exchange of researchers and the participants on the status of production and sales of mushrooms in Ninh Binh province, which proposes measures to build the value chain in Ninh Binh mushrooms.
Representing the team, Dr. Tran The Nu stated: "The situation of mushroom production and business in Ninh Binh ". Assessing the data from the survey in Hanoi and Ninh Binh province, reflecting the difficulties and challenges for mushroom growing industries. Secondly, Treatise of Mrs. Tran Thi Thanh Tu offered solutions to overcome difficulties and challenges in the process of production and business in general mushroom in Ninh Binh and Yen Khanh district in particular, which capture market trends timely, effective production and business for the parties in the chain.
The delegates agreed that the solutions to mushrooms’ value chain management in Ninh Binh that group topics introduced are deeply planed and close to reality today. CEO Hapro - Mai Khue Anh shared experiences of Hapro’s successful agricultural value chain in other regions and propose options for cooperation with the University of Economics and Business and Ninh Binh province in building brand and value chain development in Ninh Binh mushrooms.

Representatives for the bank, Mr. Do Tien Hoi - Director of Ninh Binh Technological and Commercial Bank shared his opinions on financial aid for mushroom growing operation in Ninh Binh. The banks are willing to extend credit to the mushroom production base - the business objects as well as objects that household. He said this was an opportunity for banks to coordinate with the parties, the benefit to society.
Director of Huong Nam mushrooms enterprise - Pham Quoc Huong pointed out, if desired mushroom production efficiency is necessary specialization of production, scientific and technical updates, innovative technologies to increase energy productivity, while ensuring quality. In particular, he hopes to rid the state of production fragmentation, spontaneous to agree on prices for commodities mushrooms and management agencies should have appropriate policies to ensure that the contracting between the production and consumption side.
Additional reviews of Pham Quoc Huong, representatives from the production of mushrooms in the form of households expressed the difficulties encountered when manufacturing and marketing of products even in the provinces. This indicates that, the urgent needs to do now is to improve understanding of the mushroom product for consumers to trust and prefer them, at the same time we need directions, objectives and criteria for farmers that can implement immediately and effectively the development of production that are compatible with the construction value chain.
Director of Ninh Binh Extension Center - Pham Van Trung stated that we should improve the credit disbursement development level of production, while reducing the cost of distribution to address the phenomenon of mushroom prices increased 2 or 3 times from the base value from production by reducing product prices will make consumers more palatable and increase efficiency.
After a discussion of the delegates attending the seminar, Mr. Tran Anh Tai represented the group to thank the active participation of the participants and said that the comments of the participants in this seminar were valuable information to contribute for building a successful mushroom value chain in Ninh Binh.
The workshop ended, closed a successful meeting and efficiently. As expected, the next time the subject group will coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology of Ninh Binh and Yen Khanh organize training courses on mushroom value chain development for the members of the chain.
