Not only a passionate and experienced lecturer on the podium, Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Nguyen is an example of passion for researching and discovering practical problems in Vietnam, and to promptly transfer his and colleagues' insights into quality international publications. From those responsible contributions, it has helped the research community, domestic and foreign scientists to understand Vietnam from the perspective of the country's historical, cultural and strengths - the agriculture economic sector. The main research direction of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen is associated with behavioral economics, learning about the behavior of individuals to climate change; individual behavior with conversion to organic farming; calculating technical efficiency in agricultural production by quantitative analysis tools…

During his research and study at the doctoral level at the University of Strasbourg (France), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen has absorbed a lot of new knowledge and experiences from his instructors and friends in France. Returning to Vietnam, he and his colleagues quickly developed that "knowledge capital" to find answers to questions and solve problems of the agricultural economy, the problem of finding a livelihood for farmers in all regions of Vietnam. Thanks to his passion and in-depth research ability, Dr. Nguyen has "realized" research results into products in the form of scientific articles published on domestic and foreign academic forums, monographs, topics at all levels and especially international publications are published by the world's leading prestigious publishers (under the ISI/SCOPUS catalog, ranked Q1, Q2).

On the topic of scientific research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To The Nguyen has chaired, participated in and successfully defended many projects at National, Province, and Nafosted levels and were all well-classified: Project "Urgent poverty reduction solutions for ethnic minorities in Vietnam" (National level); Project "Research and propose economic - technical solutions to strengthen linkages and cooperation in the production and consumption of agricultural products in Vinh Phuc province, period 2016-2020" (province level) ; Project "Restructuring Vietnam's tea industry and the trend of organic tea production" (province level); Thesis "Research and propose forms of cooperation, association and management/monitoring models, ensuring harmonization of interests of entities participating in the production linkage model according to the value chain, applying application of high technology to fruit and vegetable products (chili, pumpkin, sweet corn) and requirements to ensure VietGAP standards in Vinh Phuc province" (province level)...

He and his colleagues have also had many publications published in national and international journals. When asked about collaborating with colleagues in scientific research, Dr. Nguyen said: Continuous cooperation in research is very important, because through it you can discuss and come up with more ideas, discuss to understand more new knowledge from colleagues. Although there are many commendable achievements in teaching and research, gathering many young lecturers to participate in scientific research, in real life Assoc. Prof. Dr. To The Nguyen is a person with a simple style, cheerful and enthusiastic to guide and help colleagues and students. Perhaps this is the biggest advantage that people comment on him. Many of his students are holding important positions in localities and businesses but always remember their teachers with respect and love.
