III. Major research orientation in the next 5 years

In the next 5 years, the research group will further conduct research on the quality productivity in Vietnam’s enterprises. Quality and productivity are considered as key elements for the country’s development and crucial factor for the existence of an enterprise. This viewpoint is also reflected through the National Program on “Improving productivity and quality of goods and products in Vietnam’s enterprises up to 2020” approved by Prime Minister in the Decision No 712/QD-TTg.

On the other hand, international experience also shows that quality and productivity are similar to competition, the growth key which helps many countries become the world economic leaders in only short time, such as Japan, South Korea and Singapore.

However, the facts show that quality and productivity in Vietnam have experienced a scattered, individual, spontaneous and non-oriented increase. Generally, only when there is existence of 3 representatives: (1) Government - orientation, guideline, sponsor; (2) Enterprises - where solutions for increasing productivity and quality are applied to; (3) consultant agencies - analyse, evaluate factors which help to increase productivity and quality, have productivity and quality activities been given and implemented frequently and gained outstanding achievements, increasing the competitiveness of national economy.

Therefore, study on quality productivity in Vietnam in general and in Vietnam’s enterprises in particular is necessary.

IV. Scientific product expectation in the next 5 years

- 5 annual articles on quality productivity of Vietnam;

- 10 articles on Vietnam’s quality productivity published on domestic and international Journals of Sciences;

- 5 presentations on Vietnam’s quality productivity at international and national scientific workshops;

- Host and participate in research projects on Vietnam’s quality productivity.

- Conduct teaching activities and invite students to join research groups.
