Call for Papers International Conference “Developing border trade: international experience and implications for vietnam”

The University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University - Hanoi will hold the international conference “Developing Border Trade: International Experience and Implications for Vietnam” in September 2016.

The conferences is co-funded by Program "Science and Technology for the Sustainable Development of the Northwest Region", Vietnam National University - Hanoi and Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Für Die Freiheit (FNF), aiming at strengthening the academic and practical exchanges and providing a forum for scholars and practitioners on the followings:

- The experience of countries in developing border trade.

- Implications for Vietnam to develop border trade with neighboring countries including China, Laos and Cambodia.

1. Tentative Date:  September 2016

2. Conference venue: R.801, E4 Building, 144 Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

3. Conference themes

We welcome experts, researchers, scholars and practitioners to contribute papers to the conference on the followings themes:

  • The experience of countries in developing border trade in goods and services.
  • The experience of countries in managing border trade, e.g. point of view, policies, laws, and incentives to develop border trade
  • The factors that impact the development of border trade
  • The difficulties and challenges that countries face in the process of developing border trade
  • The forms of cooperation to promote the development of border trade between countries
  • The forms and models of developing and managing border trade
  • Border trade supporting services
  • The articles should focus (but not limited to) on the following countries, regions and organizations:

+ The American region: USA, Mexico, Canada, and Latin American countries

+ The European region: Germany, France, and Russia

+ The Asian region: China, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia

+ The international organizations: Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), WB, ADB, and IMF.

4. Deadline, structure and format of the paper

  • Submission of abstract and full paper: before 5th September 2016

  • Notice of acceptance: before 15th September 2016

  • Submission of revised paper at the request of the organizers: before 20th September 2016
  • The length of the paper should be between 4,000 - 6,000 words (not including the list of references) and must include:

+ Title

+ Abstract

+ Results and discussions

+ Conclusion

+ List of references

  • The paper can be in Vietnamese or English, and must have abstract in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Times New Roman font, size 13, line spacing 1.2, top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, left 3.5 cm, right 2 cm, in A4 and Word format.
